Raymond Edward Waldron, age 80, of Burr Oak, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his home.
He was born Sept. 16, 1943 in Sturgis, a son to the late Edward and Maxine (Carter) Waldron.
Raymond has resided in Sturgis and Burr Oak all of his life and on July 29, 1967 in Sturgis, he married Kendra Boals.
Raymond was a combat veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam earning the rank of Sargeant and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He had been employed by Harter Corporation, the Village of Burr Oak, and Burr Oak Public Schools. He was a volunteer fireman for 37 plus years with the Burr Oak Fire Dept. and he loved fishing.
Surviving are his wife: Kendra; children: Laura (Jesse) Yoder of Sturgis, Joseph (Carlos) Waldron of New Hampshire, and Melissa (Chad) Webb of Sturgis; grandchildren: Shasta, Jory (Jessica), Mackenzie, and Hunter; great-grandchildren: Gracie, Shaelyn, and Aria; and one brother: Ernest Waldron.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: James.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Raymond E. Waldron will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 28, 2024 in Burr Oak Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed tot the Burr Oak Fire Dept, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
