Sturgis Public Schools Board of Education this week adopted its budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
In addition, it extended the contract for superintendent Art Ebert.
The 2024-25 budget reflects $40.8 million in total revenue and $41.2 million in expenditures, with a projected starting fund balance of $8.4 million. The fund balance is equal to nearly 20 percent of its annual expenses, district officials said.
The board also unanimously approved an extension of its administrative contract with Ebert through June 2028.
The motion followed a highly effective rating announced last week by the board for Ebert. Ebert has been with Sturgis Public Schools, St. Joseph County’s largest school district, since 2018.
