United Airlines has added a seasonal flight between a Northern Michigan location and Houston, Texas.
Traverse City’s Cherry Capital Airport announced the new route this week. The Saturday-only service begins tomorrow. Airport staff in Traverse City plans to honor the incoming flight with a water salute, airport swag and a slice of cherry crumb pie.
United also offers nonstop trips from Traverse City to Chicago, Denver, Newark and Washington, D.C.
The weekend summer service to Houston will continue through Aug. 17.
