US 131 construction update

Michigan Department of Transportation’s Chris Jacobs has issued an update regarding the second phase of U.S. 131 construction.

Work, which started April 15, is concentrated to an area that includes the village of Schoolcraft and an area north to Shaver Road.

According to Jacobs, completed work includes installation of four median crossovers and installation of a storm sewer from Lyon Street to Clay Street.

Two-week outlook includes installation of a storm sewer south of Clay Street, development of a rod grade south of Vienna Street, hot-max asphalt leveling south of the railroad crossing, permanent pavement markings south of XY Avenue, and curb and sidewalk work south of Lyons Street.
