Arby’s makes donation to Animal Control

Following a donation in excess of $2,000 earlier this year, Arby’s restaurant in Three Rivers has made another sizable contribution to St. Joseph County Animal Control.

St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Cpt. TJ Baker said the fast-food eatery turned over a donation of more than $1,700 last week. A check-presentation ceremony was held Thursday at the restaurant.

Baker said the generosity of Three Rivers Arby’s is tough to put into words.

He explained that, as the restaurant did prior to its March check presentation, Three Rivers Arby’s accepted cash donations and money from customers who opted to round-up the cost of their order to the nearest dollar.

Over the six-week period of the latest campaign, the effort raised $1,710.95.

Baker said the funds will be placed in an account designated strictly for Animal Control. The previous donation was added to the same account, he said.

Arby’s has agreed to continue its fundraiser for St. Joseph County Animal Control. The latest campaign is expected to last through summer.
