Arthur Lavern “Art” Keller Jr., age 43, of Three Rivers, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Ascension Borgess Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 17, 1980 in Kalamazoo, the son of Arthur L. and Penny (McWatters) Keller, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1999.
The owner of Keller Roofing, Art worked in the roofing business for 25 years and was considered an expert. He took his work very seriously and would do everything necessary to ensure quality.
In his spare time, Art could be found in his boat fishing the St. Joe River, heading to the woods to hunt, puttering around the yard working on his trucks and boats, or suiting up to go play softball. He loved taking people fishing and teaching them everything he knew about the sport. Art also was an amazing coach. He spent many years coaching his son in wrestling and baseball and coaching his daughters in softball. There weren’t many things, if any, that Art wasn’t good at.
Art loved helping people in any way he could. He was always willing to drop what he was doing and go help a buddy or even a complete stranger if he was able to. His kids were his life. Nothing kept him from his family. Art was always there for his kids, to watch/coach their events, to talk, to joke around, or just sit quietly on the dock with. Art loved Katie and his kids with everything in him.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his father, Arthur (Connie) Keller Sr.; mother, Penny Lewis; wife, Katie Roggelien; parents-in-law, Jack and Jeri Roggelien; son, Ayden Keller; daughters, Alaina Keller, Karsen Keller, Aryah Keller, and Korbyn Dieffenderffer; sisters, Rebecca (Austin) Hart and Rachael (Richard) DeBruine; grandmother, Sandra Mathews; nephews, Richie DeBruine, Kobie DeBruine, and Dylan Hart. Along with countless extended family members and very special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence McWatters, Tom Mathews, Henry Keller, and Viola Keller; and nieces, Jordan and Ryleigh Hart.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers.
