Three Rivers Police Chief Scott Boling said the identity of a body found last week has been released.
Through the work of medical examiner officials at Western Michigan University, the deceased person was identified as Nicole Marie Wood.
Her age was not indicated in a department media release.
Officers responded shortly after 6 a.m. Friday to the 200 block of Middle Street in response to a body found behind a residence.
An investigation into the matter is still ongoing and the cause of death has yet to be determined.
Boling said there is nothing to suggest that there is a threat to the community.
