Connie Lee Haywood, age 71, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday morning, July 27, 2024, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born July 10, 1953, in Coldwater, daughter of the late Russell and Betty (Ames) Solberg.
Connie resided in Sturgis for the past 14 years. Her early life was spent in Coldwater and Traverse City.
She was currently serving on the Sturgis Housing Commission Board. Connie enjoyed traveling back to Traverse City for family gatherings, and she loved time spent with all her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter: Senyeh Solberg of Sturgis; son: Ruben Haywood of Sturgis; grandchildren: Shanica, Shakira and Casey; great grandchildren: Hunter, Cary, Amiyah, Dominick and Izabella; sisters: Penny Williams of Florida and Dorothy Hamilton or Traverse City and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Mary Whipp and brother: Dale Solberg.
In honoring Connie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
