Garry Carmiel Giggy, age 84, of Three Rivers, and formerly of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home.
He was born August 14, 1939, in Howe, IN a son to the late Keith M. and Ruth (Dellinger) Giggy.
Garry was a member of the Michigan National Guard where he served for 6 years, from Feb. 1962 to Feb. of 1968.
On October 4, 1964, at the Lima United Methodist Church in Howe, he married Mary L. Yunker.
Garry retired from Multiplex in Howe after 36 years of employment. He had also worked at Black Gold and John Smoll Excavating. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, repairing things, and was an excellent craftsman and handyman. He was also a member of the Sturgis Evangelical Church which is now Fawn River Missionary Church.
Surviving are his wife Mary; a son: Robert G. (Maureen) Giggy of Sturgis; a daughter: Doreen L. Wilcox of Three Rivers; grandchildren: Roxanne M. (Paul) Bartholemew, Ryan R. (Gabby) Giggy, Loren S.(Makalla) Wilcox, and Rachel A. (Mike) Hudson; great-grandchildren: Jace, Eliyas, and Raelyn Bartholemew, Sage Wilcox and Reece Hudson; 2 brothers: Warren (Linda) Giggy of Sturgis and Norris Giggy of Oshtemo; 3 sisters: Patty Cortez of Denver, Phyllis Cooper of Middlebury, and Barbara Smith of Howe; a sister-in-law: Julia Giggy of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Norman and Bruce Giggy; 2 brother-in-laws: Larry Cooper and Norman Smith; one nephew: Elroy Holcomb, Aunt: Karleen Hedglin, Uncle: Harry Hedglin, and great aunt: Dora Giggy.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Fawn River Missionary Church, 29201 E. Fawn River Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
Services celebrating the life of Garry C. Giggy will be held at 2:00 immediately following the visitation, at the church with Pastor Baily Horn, officiating.
Interment and graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.
