Gayle Susan Goshorn, age 78, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday morning, July 20, 2024, at Kairos Dwelling Home in Kalamazoo.
She was born September 3, 1945, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the only child of the late John F. and Betty (Baltzer) Goyne.
Gayle resided in Sturgis since 1983 coming from Elkhart, where she lived from 1975-1983. Her early life was spent in the Philadelphia area.
She had been employed by StyleLine in Sturgis for over 10 years, until the closing of the Sturgis plant and she was a homemaker.
For several years she was a volunteer librarian at Cleveland Elementary School in Elkhart. Gayle had a true love for animals and was a member of the World Wildlife Federation. She enjoyed flower gardening, music, crossword puzzles, classic movies and reading, especially poetry.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years: Danny Goshorn; daughter: Suzanne (Geoffrey) Williams of S. Daytona, Florida; son: Jonathan (Christy) Doane of Kalamazoo and three grandchildren: Nicholas, Jacob and Kendall.
In honoring Gayle’s wishes cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
