Multiple injuries in Howe crash

A Sturgis woman was injured during a two-vehicle crash last week near Howe, Ind., in LaGrange County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded shortly after 11 a.m. Friday to County Road 100 East and State Road 120.

Investigators said 30-year-old Renessa Coup, of Sturgis, was driving south on County Road 100 East. She stopped at the intersection but then proceeded and into the path of a westbound semi driven by 41-year-old Ohio resident Brett Michael.

Authorities said Coup was trapped inside her SUV and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. She was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Three passengers in the Coup vehicle were injured: 57-year-old Diana Fraker and two children, ages 2 and 1 of Sturgis. They, too, were treated by medical personnel.
