Ronald E. Fox, age 85, of Moorepark and Marcellus, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 7, 2024. He was born on June 19, 1939 at his home in Schoolcraft, the son of Howard and Cora (Oswalt) Fox. On October 1, 1960 he would marry the love of his life, Darlene Butler.
Ron was a “jack of all trades” able to fix anything and everything he got his hands on. For over a decade, he and his wife would flip houses. Due to his maintenance, alteration, carpentry, and brick laying skills, this was an enjoyable experience for Ron. After his house flipping days were done, he began driving semi-trucks all over the country. Driving for Walther Farms, Bear Lake Trucking Co., P and P, ATL, and many-many more. Ron wasn’t simply known for his work ethic or his ability to fix anything, rather his ability to put himself last for his family’s benefit. He loved his family and enjoyed his family time. Traveling around the country to almost every state with his family on vacations, flying over and through the Grand Canyon, taking cruises all over the world to see the London Lights at night, and spending every summer beginning to end camping in “Momma Butler’s Woods” made precious memories for everyone who was close with him. In Ron’s free time, he would often go fishing, hunting, and trapping; one of his favorite hobbies however, was putting puzzles together or solving sudoku with his pal Freckles sitting on his lap.
Ron is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darlene; children; Scott (Dawn) Fox, Denese (Bret) Jacobs, Chris (Darcie) Fox, and Shawn (Darcy) Fox; twelve grandchildren, over twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; siblings; Kenneth, Sue, Ellen, and Carol; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Fox, granddaughter Rachel Jacobs, and great granddaughters Kayla and Madison Myers.
In keeping with family wishes, cremation is taking place. A memorial service will be held at Edwards Corners Bible Church (51047 Chamberlain Road, Marcellus, MI 49067) on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11am with one hour of visitation prior. A private family interment will take place at a later date. It is suggested that donations in Ron’s name be made to either Edwards Corners Bible Church, Centrica Care Navigators, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
