Sturgis schools hires new assistant superintendent

Sturgis Public Schools has approved the hiring of a new assistant superintendent.

Britt Gross was one of three finalists from a pool of 12 applicants. She replaces Nicole Gittinger, who retired last month.

Britt has a Bachelor’s degree in English and American literature and language from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master’s degree in education for administration and supervision, adult education and training, and curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix.

Prior to coming to Sturgis, she served Polk County Public Schools in Florida in a variety of roles, including reading teacher, freshman academy dean, senior coordinator, assistant principal, director of student learning and evaluation, director of special projects and assistant principal of curriculum.
