Two arrested following breaking-and-entering

Two of three people involved in a breaking-and-entering incident earlier this week in Branch County’s California Township were arrested.

Michigan State Police troopers on Sunday were dispatched to the 1000 block of State Line Road in California Township in response to a breaking-and-entering situation that had occurred around 9 p.m.

Tips and leads were received and three suspects were brought to the attention of investigators. Two suspects – a 47-year-old man from Coldwater and a 49-year-old woman also from Coldwater – were arrested in a camper they were living in in the area of Willowbrook Road and White Drive in Coldwater. A third suspect has been identified and is being sought by authorities.

Troopers said a considerable amount of the stolen property has been recovered.

The man and woman were wanted on multiple warrants and also charged with breaking and entering, and possession of stolen property. The man was also a parole absconder.

Authorities said drug use is a suspected factor in the case.
