A Colon man was one of four people arrested during a sting operation by multiple law-enforcement agencies.
According to WOTV News, Jason Burgess, 40, was arrested last week following a coordinated operation between Kent County Sheriff’s Human Trafficking Task Force and the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force.
Agents posed as minors, who were then allegedly contacted through social media and phone apps by the suspects, including Burgess.
Burgess and three other Grand Rapids-area men face charges of child sexually abusive activity, accosting a minor and using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime.
WWMT reports that Burgess was a teacher at Harper Creek High School but has resigned as a result of his arrest and charges he faces.
Two additional suspects are expected to be arrested pending further investigation.
