Constantine’s Harvest Festival will host several competitions

Organizers of next month’s Constantine Harvest Festival invite the public to participate in any of a number of competitions.

The one-day festival is Sept. 7.

The first competition is an apple-pie baking contest. Age groups are 12 and under, 13 through 17 years, 18 through 39, and 40 and older. All entries must be delivered to the village office between 11 a.m. and 1:20 p.m.

The festival will also feature a quilt show. The inaugural event will be at the Constantine Township Library. The public is invited to vote on their favorite quilt. Quilts need to be dropped off during library hours the week of Sept. 2.

A scarecrow contest is available for families, schools, businesses, organizations and individuals. Registration and how-to-make instructions are at the village office and on its website: constantinemi.com.

Scarecrows must be received by 6 p.m. Sept. 6.
