Three Rivers Community Schools has kicked off the 2024-25 academic year with a new look at its middle school, high school and its athletic complex.
Superintendent Nikki Nash said students returned Monday and witnessed a transformation of the middle school, where the balance of work over the summer took place. Nash said the building addition and improvements at the middle school – as well as other work completed this summer – are the result of a bond approved by district voters in 2019.
Another key component of the summer work centers on Armstrong Field. It features new turf, a new track, a new scoreboard and a refurbished fieldhouse.
One other noteworthy improvement in the district is a new bus garage, which was moved further up Sixth Street, Nash said.
Most districts in the county started school Monday as well, though Mendon begins Aug. 26 and Burr Oak Sept. 3.
