Woman injured in Cass County crash

A Cassopolis woman was injured after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash over the weekend in Cass County’s Mason Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies responded shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday to the intersection of Cassopolis Road and Mason Street in response to a personal-injury crash.

Investigators determined a car driven by Detroit-area resident Jaime Anway, 47, was traveling east on Mason Street and disregarded a stop sign at the Cassopolis Road intersection.

Anway’s vehicle struck a car heading south on Cassopolis Road and driven by 77-year-old Martha Lee. Lee was treated at Elkhart General Hospital. Anway and his passenger, 47-year-old Sara Anway, were not injured.
