Centreville High School has announced that its varsity football contest Friday at Comstock has been canceled.
Athletics director Jill Peterson said Centreville is attempting to secure an opponent, though the short notice may work against the 1-and-2 Bulldogs, she said.
An explanation for the cancellation against the 0-3 Colts was not immediately given. Online comments in reaction to the announcement, however, stated Comstock has struggled to maintain a varsity squad this year and its three losses have been one-sided affairs.
Speculation also centered on the safety and security at Comstock High School.
