Municipal officials in Constantine said a major east-west route in the village will be closed for eight days starting next week.
During their village council meeting Monday, Constantine leaders approved closure of East Water Street, west of Station Street. The measure will allow contractors to cut into the road on East Water Street and install a water pipe under the roadway.
It will be closed from Monday through Sept. 30.
Station and Mill streets will remain open during the project, providing motorists an alternate route.
Meanwhile, the council also approved the closure of one block of East Water Street – between South Washington and White Pigeon streets – for an eight-hour period starting at noon Oct. 5 for Constantine’s Oktoberfest celebration.
This potshop village is so doped up they are clueless at the escalating stupid decisions they make at the expense of taxpayers. They are destroying the environment, aesthetics, usabilty, neighborhoods in search of a few more dollars. Pick a street from downtown and take in the indolent downslide.
Gotta agree on stupid. Noise and stink everywhere. Right downtown where they want you to eat and shop. Now an ethanol plant a block away right on top of their family park. Brightest bulbs in the pack.
We were visiting the grandkids. Went with my daughter to pick up the youngest at Eastside. Such a horrible smell! She said it happens all the time whenever the wind blows. It’s the pot processing plant. On children?
