Final days for County clerk

St. Joseph County Clerk Lindsay Oswald is a day away from her final day as a county employee.

Oswald, who also serves as register of deeds, chose to not seek re-election to a third, four-year term. Rather than step down when her term expires Dec. 31, however, Oswald is resigning. Friday is her last day.

The 45-year-old Three Rivers-area resident has spent more than 12 years with the county. She succeeded predecessor Pattie Bender in June 2015 and previously spent 10 years with the city of Three Rivers.

A Saginaw County native, Oswald is turning over her duties to clerk-elect Gina Everson. She will be sworn in Monday and serve as acting clerk/register of deeds until her four-year term starts Jan. 1.

Everson, a Mendon Township resident, has served as chief deputy register under Oswald.
