Infrastructure work closes Sturgis road

A major route in Sturgis will be closed starting today to allow for infrastructure work.

Municipal officials said sanitary sewer work is being done on North Nottawa Street. As a result, it will be closed from Main Street to Hatch Street through late September.

Simultaneously, Department of Public Services plan to replace water-main valves in the three-block stretch.

DPS officials said the work will require sporadic interruptions in water service within the area.

Motorists are asked to follow a posted detour.
