News from White Pigeon Library

White Pigeon Township Library Director Perri Saunders recently provided an update on library-related matters.

For starters, Saunders said more than 1,400 books were read by students who participated in its Summer Reading Program.

In addition, Saunders said the library was awarded an LSTA grant through the Library of Michigan to fund a new Memory Connections collection. Saunders plans to elaborate on the subject later this month.

Meanwhile, Saunders said the biggest news is the library is 97 percent of its way toward reaching its bookmobile fundraising goal.

The book trailer is being built, the specialty shelving and components are ordered, and the truck will be purchased soon. More details about the state of the bookmobile will follow, Saunders said.
