Constantine Public Schools officials said an infrastructure issue earlier this week forced the district to cancel classes for a day.
Acting superintendent Patrick Breen said the incident involved a village of Constantine sewer-line break last weekend. As a result, the district canceled classes Tuesday, creating a five-day weekend for its students.
Repairs on the impacted line did not start until Tuesday, due to the Labor Day holiday Monday.
The one-day school closing did not impact athletic practices Tuesday.
