Chasity Kay Bender, age 47, of Sturgis, passed away Monday evening, October 28, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born October 29, 1976 in Niles, daughter of the late Paul S. and Brenda Kay (Gregory) Pelfrey.
Chasity resided most of her life in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School. She furthered her education at Kings Bible College in Scotland.
On April 29, 2022, she married Joshua Bender in Constantine.
She was currently a caretaker at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis, a job she truly loved.
She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Sturgis, enjoyed board and card games, coloring, reading and cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her husband: Joshua; daughter: Lilly (Dylan) Henke of Elkhart; sons: Billy Whisman of Centreville and Owen Taylor at home; sister: Tayna Pham of Sturgis; brother: Rodney (Jamie) Gregory of Mendon, and several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Chasity’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Chasity Kay Bender will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9th at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 300 Timothy St. in Sturgis. Pastor Justin Wickey will officiate. A continued time of fellowship and the sharing of a meal will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
