Constantine approves rebuild of 3 streets

Three streets in Constantine will be rebuilt next year.

Village council members earlier this week approved a bid of nearly $900,000 with contractor Rieth Riley for work on Industrial Drive, Meyers Street and Florence Road.

Village officials said cost of the work is being supplemented by a $250,000 Transportation Economic Funds grant.

Work is expected to begin in May.

  1. Anyone explain why there are suddenly crossing gates at the Florence Road tracks? There have been no reported accidents for decades.

  2. How much are the multimillion dollar businesses on those streets contributing to rebuild the damage caused by their heavy trucks? Another corporate welfare program paid for by taxpayers to the constant noise of MAGA against struggling workers?
