Three Rivers Department of Public Services wishes to remind residents that it is in the second day of a four-day, door-to-door campaign to confirm water service line material inside homes.
The effort is part of the “Get the Lead Out” program, in which the city is partnering with the Environmental Protection Agency. The inspection requires a visual check of the area where service lines meet the water meter inside a residence.
The EPA will have six officials engaged in the process, accompanied by a DPS employee.
The process takes place 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday.
In-house inspections will be requested only if an exterior visual inspection doesn’t yield enough information.
Workers will leave a door-handle tag at homes where no one is present. The tag contains a QR code that details steps for residents to conduct self-verification.
