Kalamazoo airport hosts Honor Flight

The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport is partnering with Talons Out Honor Flight to transport American veterans to Washington, D.C., this weekend to visit memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for their country.

AZO will host all participating veterans served by the organization, including veterans from WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War eras, as well as terminally-ill veterans serving during any era.

The impending Honor Flight is set to take place Saturday. Veterans and their guardians are asked to arrive at AZO between 4 and 5 a.m. before boarding the American Airlines flight to the nation’s capital.

All travelers will return to Kalamazoo by the end of the day.

AZO Airport Director Craig Williams said the airport completed a successful Honor Flight back in May.
