Kim Cupp, 63

Kim Cupp, age 63, was called home to help with the harvest in Heaven on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Kim was born on August 22, 1961 to Jerry and Lois Cupp of Mendon. Kim was the youngest of five siblings (Cactus, Cindy, Kerry and Sandy) and spoiled by all of them. During his youth, Kim loved pulling jacked-up trucks, football, causing trouble in Union City with his best friend Steve Snyder and most of all, farming. Kim bought his first farm when he was only 17 years old and was a faithful steward of the land up until his death. Kim married in 1983 and had two sons, Jarrett (Chelsea) Cupp and Bailey (Stacy) Cupp. Later in life, Kim met the love of his life, Becky Kruszka, at a local gun store in Mendon. They were married in 2017 and enjoyed 7 happy years together. Marrying Becky, Kim added to his family as well, acquiring 4 more children whom he loved as his own; Frank (Amber) Kruszka, Jamie (Sarah) Kruszka, Alecia (Kurtis) Schwartz and Dalton (Ashley) Williamson. He became a loving Papa to nine grandchildren: Layne, Paisley, Isabelle, Gianna, Scarlett, Kennedy, Grayson, Maverick and Henley.

During his life, Kim enjoyed pulling trucks (Black and Blue Pulling), snowmobiling (he was a founding member of Team Iron), hunting, farming, vacationing in South Haven and warmer destinations, John Wayne westerns, a nice steak, four-finger-poured cocktails, big family dinners, showcasing his dance moves, and holding the hand of his wife while watching the St. Joseph River drift on by. Kim was widely known as the kindest and nicest man with the biggest heart to many and touched the lives of countless people during his life. His legacy will forever live in the love of farming he gave to his son Jarrett, love of truck pulling he gave to his son Bailey, and his unconditional love he gave to wife and best friend, Becky.

Following Kim’s wishes, cremation is being conducted. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date, ensuring the local farmers complete this year’s harvest. Condolences and memories may be expressed to his family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
