Lillian Blount, 88

Lillian Blount, age 88, passed away on August 18, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona.

Lillian was born on May 2, 1936 in Colon, Michigan to Charles and Faye Williams. She grew up in Colon and graduated from Colon High School.

Two children survive her: Lenore Leckvold (Keasey) of Bothell, Washington, and Mark (Teresa) Keasey of Tucson. She is also survived by her sister Pam (Ken) Dady of Bellefontaine, Ohio and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her husband, James Blount of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by infant son Charles Keasey, parents Charles and Faye Williams, sister Margie Williams, and sister Ellizabeth Meek.

Lillian was a polio survivor contracted when she was about twelve years old. The polio left her with limited use of her left shoulder, arm, and hand. She did not let that stop her and she not only raised her family but learned how to process photographs in a dark room set up in the home, played the bass drum in her high school band, and played piano and organ in church. She helped care for baby animals in the home before the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum had a nursery to provide that care.

She loved her family, and they loved her. She had a calm demeanor and did not complain even as things grew more difficult towards the end of her life. She will be missed but her family is thankful that she is no longer suffering.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life in Tucson on October 19, and there will be an informal service at Lakeview Cemetery in Colon, on October 26.

Arrangements by Evergreen Mortuary and Crematory.
