Linda Kay Fair, age 82, of Three Rivers, passed away at her home on Monday, October 21, 2024. She was born in Grand Rapids, on October 20, 1942 and was adopted by her loving parents, Edward and Dorothy (Strohpaul) Hack. She attended Three Rivers High School and was part of the 1960 graduating class. On June 6, 1970 she would marry the love of her life, Herbert Fair at Trinity Episcopal Church in Three Rivers. Linda was a hard-working lady, working at Continental Can for over a decade, working at the GTE phone company for fifteen years, and then showing her true colors working in the jewelry section at Meijer for almost twenty years. Linda had a green thumb and would often showcase her talents at the county fair and would regularly bring home a ribbon or trophy because of it. She had a reputation of being a fierce competitor, and was dubbed the title of “Shuffleboard Champion” in Florida. Linda loved her sports, especially when her grandchildren were involved; she would often be one of the loudest fans in attendance. One of her pride and joys in life was her 1964 Chevy Corvair Convertible 4-speed; that car alone would bring trophies home and even earned her the nickname “Topless Lady” at the local car shows. The car may have been her pride and joy, but her family had her heart. Linda will always be remembered for her unique, loud, energetic laugh with her beautiful smile.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Herb; four children; Rene’e (Eric) Schreffler of Vicksburg, Randy (Nancy) Fair of Beloit, WI, Michael (Shelley) Fair of Durand, IL, and Chad (Christy) Fair of Belmont, MI; “adopted daughter” Ann (Brian) Riley; six grandchildren; Courtney (Justin) Fitzgerald, Lucas (Vanessa) Perry, Casey (Carla) Schreffler, Jen Fair, Justin Fair, and Zachary Fair; two great-grandchildren; Harley Fitzgerald and Jaxon Fitzgerald; and two more beautiful babies on the way.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation is being conducted. A visitation and memorial service will be planned in the coming days. It is suggested that donations made in Linda’s name be made to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice or Trinity Episcopal Church.
