Fire departments from Mendon and Centreville are hosting a benefit event at the end of the week.
Starting at 4 o’clock Friday, meals featuring a BBQ chicken sandwich, fries, creamy green beans, fresh fruit and homemade pie will be served. Food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event takes place at Community Youth Center, 59321 Nottawa Road, in Nottawa Township.
Firefighters will conduct a water-rescue demonstration hourly.
