Paul James Chapman, age 62, a lifelong Nottawa resident, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born Feb. 28, 1962 in Sturgis, a son to Jim and Rose (Schwartz) Chapman.
Paul has been employed as a cook at Yosemite National Park and also on Catalina Island, a welder at Continental Accessories, and custodian for Sturgis Public Schools.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting Indian arrowheads.
Surviving are his parents: Jim (Rose) Chapman of Nottawa; siblings: Beth (Pierre) Charon of Wasepi, Tod (Betty Stienbarger) Chapman of Mendon, Sherrie (Kort) Gentry of L’Anse, MI, Cindy (Jeff) Schnotala of Hickory Corners, MI, and Joe (Chrissy) Chapman of Vicksburg; also several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at New Beginnings Church, 63022 N. M-66, Sturgis, MI 49091.
Funeral Services celebrating the life of Paul Chapman will be held at 2:00, immediately following visitation, at New Beginnings Church with Pastor Randy Evans officiating. Interment and graveside services will follow in Nottawa Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of one’s choice and envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
