Vicki Brown, 81

Victoria Joyce Brown, age 81, of Sturgis, passed away early Saturday morning, October 19, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born October 5, 1943, in Coloma, Michigan daughter of the late Joyce (VanVoorhis) Potts.

Vicki had resided in Sturgis since 1976, coming from Coloma.

On July 25, 2002, she married Gerald James Nelson in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Vicki started her career in Sturgis working at Citizens State Bank. She finished her career working at Fiebig Jewelers.

She enjoyed playing golf, sewing, dancing, gardening and relaxing on her pontoon boat.

Vicki is survived by her husband: Gerald Nelson; daughter: Rebecca (Joe) Zbuchalski of Huntsville, Alabama; son: Mark Dienes of Fort Wayne; granddaughters: Archela (Connor) Daly of Lansing and Hannah Zbuchalski of St. Petersburg, Florida and great grandson: Quintin Daly.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Joyce (VanVoorhis) Potts; father: Edgar Brown; stepfather: Robert Potts and brother: Jeffrey Brown.

In honoring Vicki’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 Friday, October 25th at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis.
