A wanted felon was arrested last week by Sturgis Department of Public Safety.
City officials said they had been attempting to locate the suspect and on Oct. 11, officers noticed activity at the suspect’s residence. After a period of surveillance, officers observed the suspect get into the passenger seat of a vehicle leaving the residence.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Monroe Street and the 26-year-old suspect was arrested on multiple felony warrants.
Officers located methamphetamine, heroin and a loaded firearm reported stolen from Colorado.
The 42-year-old female driver and two juveniles were released at the scene.
