Detour in Vicksburg due to railroad crossing improvements

Vicksburg village officials have announced a detour on a major north-south route leading into Kalamazoo.

CN railroad tracks that cross Richardson Street, in the northeast quadrant of the village, will be under repair for the next week. As a result, the crossing is closed through the projected Nov. 18 completion date.

Village manager Jim Mallery said municipal officials were not given advance notice of the railroad-crossing improvement, though the village appreciates a correction to the rough crossing.

North Main Street and North Spruce Streets are recommended alternative routes, Mallery said.
