James H. Griffith, age 95, passed away on November 10, 2024 in Byron Center, Michigan. Jim was born September 28, 1929 in Eagle, Michigan, the son of John and Elsie (Hardy) Griffith Sr. He served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He retired from GM in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, buying and selling antiques. He was a Trustee of Flowerfield Township for many years. He was also a board member of St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn, whom he married Feb. 5, 1994, her sons Steven, David and Brian Mott, and his son James Griffith Jr. and sister Virginia Dalton. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 7 brothers.
His family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2024 at noon at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers; a funeral service will follow at 1:00 with Pastor Jeremy Zoet officiating. He will be laid to rest in Flowerfield Cemetery.
Donations in Jim’s memory may be directed to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
