Lora L. Huff, age 64, of Mendon, passed away at her new home in Three Rivers on Thursday, October 31, 2024 after battling an illness for 15 years. She was born in Vicksburg on October 8, 1960 the daughter of Richard “Dick” and Janice (McVay) Clark.
Lora attended Mendon High School and was part of the 1978 graduating class. On June 13, 1981 she married her high school sweetheart Sam Huff at the Mendon United Methodist Church. Lora was a jack of all trades and a master of all. She was a 4H Leader for over 30 years as part of the “Muttley Crew” showing her skills and dedication to all the children and their dogs. Lora was an animal lover and was known for rehabbing and nursing any wild animal she could back to health. Her love of animals and hard work was successfully passed down to her children, as they also showed horses and were very successful. Lora’s skills in the arts and crafts arena were unmatched; making Halloween costumes, decorations, and nicknacks for family and friends. She always made sure she had enough craft supplies to do so, which ended up being a basement full of potential works of art. Lora’s talents were not just for arts and crafts, but the kitchen as well; her potato soup, goulash, and baked goods are often discussed and bragged about. She was a sucker for adventures, going on shopping trips, soaking up the sun at the beach, looking at the wonderful animals at the zoo, and yes, using power tools. Lora’s dedication and love for her family was unmatched, especially with her grandchildren.
Lora is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Sam Huff; two children; Andrew (Melissa) Huff and Amanda (Zach) Radtke both of Mendon Township; her mother Janice Clark; six grandchildren; Kylie, Alexa, Kelsie, Emilia, Evan, and Ezra; siblings; Kim (Todd) Mears, Rick (Michelle) Clark, and Tricia (Shawn) Griffith; sister-in-law; Shari Clark; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Clark and her brother Jeff Clark.
Visitation for Lora will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 11am until 12pm at Crossroads Missionary Church in Mendon with funeral services beginning at 12pm with Tim Schwartz officiating. Immediately following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at the church. It is suggested that memorials made in Lora’s name be made to Centrica Care Navigators.
