Norma Frays, 97

Norma Jean Frays, age 97, of Centreville, died Friday, November 8, 2024 at Skaggs Assisted Living in Burr Oak. She was born September 14, 1927 in Centreville, a daughter of Herman and Augusta (Rhoda) Luck. Norma graduated from Centreville High School in 1943. On June 15, 1947 she married James Frays at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1994.

Norma worked for 43 years as a clerk for Gamble Pharmacy in Centreville. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Centreville, and was a member of the LWML Ladies Aid.

Surviving are her son in law, Jim Fritz of Centreville, many nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Fritz, sons Randy Frays and Doug Frays, granddaughter Hope (Fritz) Spenner, brother Arnold Luck, sisters Mildred Hitzeman, Elsie Hitzeman and Edith Riley.

Relatives and friends will be received Thursday, Nov. 14 from 10 to 11 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Centreville, where religious services will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow in Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.   1. Norma was truly an angel without wings down here and now she will wear her wings in heaven. She was the most giving person I know. My daughter, Paula, was a close friend of her granddaughter, Hope. Hope was very close to Norma so she and Paula spent time with Norma. Paula always felt welcome when the two girls went to Norma’s. She was truly a woman of God. Rest In Peace my dear friend.
