Raymond D. Hochstetler, age 77 years, 8 months, 1 day, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital from prolonged health issues. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Raymond was born on March 9, 1947, in Elkhart, a son to the late Daniel and Amanda (Troyer) Hochstetler. On March 9, 1967, he married Rosemary H. Miller. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2024. They lived in matrimony for 56 years, 11 months, 3 days.
Raymond is survived by 9 children: Daniel (Marilyn) Hochstetler of Centreville, Henry (Martha) Hochstetler of Colon, Irene (Mark) Esh of Belt, MT, Velma (Melvin) Bontreger of Sturgis, Lydia Ann (Jonas) Bontrager of Sturgis, Kermit (Rebecca) Hochstetler of Bonduel, WI, Ruben (Lila Fern) Hochstetler of Sturgis, Amanda Sue (David) Borntrager of Worthington, IN, Ruth (Marion) Miller of Burr Oak, 49 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, sister: Lydia Ann Hochstetler of Sarasota, Florida, and sister in law Ruby Hochstetler of Bremen, Indiana. Besides his parents Raymond was preceded by his siblings: Eli (Martha) Hochstetler, John Hochstetler, Sarah (Willis) Hochstetler, Perry (Fannie) Hochstetler, Tobias (Elizabeth) Schlabaugh, and Minerva (William) Chupp, daughter Rachel, son Raymond Jr., and son in law Raymond A. Eicher.
The Hochstetler family would like to give special thanks to each and every one for all of their help throughout Raymond’s sickness and funeral preparations. The Hochstetler family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM and again on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 9:30 AM with Marvin Bontrager Home Ministry officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Order Amish Cemetery in Centreville. All events for Raymond will take place at the CYC Building: 59321 Nottawa Road, Centreville, Michigan 49032.
