Ronald Lee Hurst, age 67, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 30, 1957 in Hartford City, Indiana a son to the late Kenneth F. and Margorie L. (Rowan) Hurst.
Ronald graduated from Hartford City High School and shortly after graduating joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 4 years earning the rank of SGT.
He was first married to Betsy (Palmer) Armstrong, mother to Brian and Kenny, and in 1994 he married Alice Richmond.
Ronald was employed by Ross Laboratories for 30 years and enjoyed fishing, darts and horseshoes, living at the lake, and being with family.
Ronald is survived by his wife: Alice; children: Brian (Tasha) Hurst of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kenny Hurst of Sturgis, Rebecca (Brent) Colaw of Bakersfield, CA, Matthew (Dana) Fisk of Shipshewana, and Sky (Nicole) McEntire of Odessa, TX, several grand children and great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Lisa (Scott) Hutson of Hartford City, IN and 1 brother: Kenneth “Skip” Hurst of Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law: Iriny McEntire of Florida; and his beloved Cagney and Mr. Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Carol Sue Crawford; and a son: Cedar McEntire.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service celebrating the life of Ronald L. Hurst will be held at a later date in the spring.
