Schoolcraft’s football season ends in playoffs

An area high school varsity football team in Michigan High School Athletic Association’s playoffs was defeated over the weekend in a semi-final contest.

Schoolcraft High School saw its 10-game win streak snapped and its season conclude Saturday in a 38-7 loss to Monrose St. Mary Catholic Central.

The Eagles finish their season with an 11-2 record. St. Mary, meanwhile, is 13-0 and can claim a Division 7 state title Saturday against 12-0 Millington at Ford Field in Detroit.

Also Saturday, Niles High School plays for a state title against Goodrich in a matchup of 12-1 teams.

Niles won its Division 4 semi-final over the weekend, 62-30, against Grand Rapids South Christian.
