Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy receives award

Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy has been honored with the 2024 “Governors Service Award.”

The agency’s “Privateers,” its “Wednesday Warriors” and its “Seed Collectors and Pluggers” have been honored with the 2024 Governors Service Award in the “Community Impact” category.

Program volunteers have been instrumental in protecting and restoring habitat across southwest Michigan, according to Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy officials.

In 2023 alone, volunteers logged more than 2,800 hours – roughly the equivalent of one full- and one part-time staff working for an entire year.
