City commissioner arrested, not charged

Three Rivers City Commission member Lucas Allen was arrested last weekend on a charge of alleged assault and battery.

Allen, however, was eventually released and not charged, according to St. Joseph County court officials.

Allen was arrested Sunday afternoon and taken to St. Joseph County Jail, authorities said. An arraignment was scheduled to take place the next day, but it was canceled after the county prosecutor’s office opted to not charge him with the alleged offense.

Prosecutor-elect Deb Davis stated to the media that the case remains under investigation.
