Joan E. Evilsizor, age 92, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 2024, at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation in Three Rivers.
She was born August 5, 1932 in Three Rivers, daughter of the late Duane and Maxine (Brown) Knapp.
Joan resided in Sturgis for the past 64 years, coming from White Pigeon.
On August 30, 1950, she married Clarence R. Evilsizor in Angola. He preceded her in death June 17, 1983.
Joan had been employed at Transogram in Sturgis and for many years with her sister, Delores cleaned offices of local lawyers and the Secretary of State office in Sturgis.
She was a member of Sturgis Church of Christ and Florence Country Club, and she enjoyed word search puzzles.
She is survived by her sons: Roger (Becky) Evilsizor of Sturgis and the Rev. James (Theresa) Evilsizor of Tionesta, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; sister: Shirley Rice of Florida; brothers: James Knapp of Florida and Billy Knapp of Sturgis and daughter-in-law: Jackie Evilsizor of Sturgis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sons: Gerald Evilsizor and John “Johnboy” Evilsizor; daughter-in-law: Becky Evilsizor; sisters: Mary Jeanette Motz and Delores Middleton and brother: Ronnie Knapp.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 6th at the Sturgis Church of Christ, 901 N. Lakeview Ave. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Joan Evilsizor will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00. The Rev. George Cleverley will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
