St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department deputies and troopers from Michigan State Police successfully found an elderly woman who was reported missing last week in Burr Oak Township.
According to a sheriff’s department media release, deputies responded around 1:30 a.m. Thursday to the 32000 block of Fawn River Road.
Family members told authorities an 83-year-old woman had been reported missing. The family expressed concern due to the woman’s medical condition, specifically high blood pressure and dementia.
In addition, deputies were advised the woman may not have been dressed appropriately for outdoor weather conditions.
Deputies, Michigan State Police and the Great Lakes Drone Services joined forces in the search. Ultimately, K-9 Obi located the missing female.
She was hospitalized for medical evaluation.
