A Thurston Woods Community Event program coming up next month centers on a 13,000-year-old historic site near Leonidas.
The Belson-Clovis Archeological Site is recognized as the oldest human occupational site in the state. It offers a glimpse into the lives of the early hunter-gatherers who lived in the area.
Thomas Talbot, site discoverer and director of the Belson-Clovis Project, will present a slide show on the subject. It will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The presentation will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 16 at 307 N. Franks Ave., in Sturgis. It is free but does require registration. Additional information is available by phoning 269-718-6846.
