Sonya Colene Saddison, age 77, of Sturgis, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 11, 2024, at Goshen Hospital in Goshen, Indiana.
She was born January 4, 1947, in Kendallville, Indiana, daughter of the late Raymond and Deloris (Hewitt) Coney.
Sonya resided in Sturgis since 1983, coming from the Kendallville area.
In April of 1983 she married Terry Lee Saddison in Centreville. He preceded her in death September 24, 2016.
Sonya had been employed by Multiplex in Howe, Indiana for 20 years, Millers Grocery Store in the Deli for 10 years and until her retirement in June of 2024 she was employed in the Deli at Lightning Quick Marathon in Sturgis for several years.
Sony was happiest when she was spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Tammy Strub of Kendallville, and Kristin (Wesley Stevens) Woods of Sturgis; grandchildren: Hannah, Alex, Briah and Kylie and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Jeralye Saddison; brother: Garry Coney and sisters: Sandy Fulk, Sharon Slaybaugh and Twila Kline.
In honoring Sonya’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
