White Pigeon Township Library officials celebrated a major achievement Saturday with the unveiling of the agency’s new Bookmobile.
Director Perri Saunders said OVIE, a truck-and-trailer tandem, will be put into use later in 2025. In the meantime, the public had a chance to step into the trailer and take a look at what took a two-year fundraising effort to secure.
Saunders thanked individuals, service groups and companies that provided donations to help make the Bookmobile a reality.
The library’s $185,000 goal was met in September. Saunders said the library is still accepting donations and hosting periodic fundraisers for bookmobile support.
Once the truck and trailer were delivered, graphics were added to both pieces, and specialized shelving inside the Sprinter trailer was also applied.
