The National Weather Service classified Tuesday’s storm as a category EF2 tornado. Officials from the agency’s Northern Indiana office said top wind speeds were 115 miles per hour and followed a ground path of nearly 8 1/2 miles. The tornado featured a width of 700 yards. Man killed in crash identified

An 18-year-old Sturgis man who died last weekend in a crash has been identified. Alexander Cardenas died Saturday morning following a crash at the intersection of South Nottawa Street and Bogen Road, according to the Sturgis Department of Public Safety. Two arrested in case of inmate death

Two people who allegedly played a part in the overdose death of a prison inmate in Branch County have been arraigned. According to a Michigan State Police media release, inmate Evellis McGee, 30, and Saginaw resident Aaliyah Lent, 24, were arrested on warrants issued after Lakeland Correctional inmate William Wilson was found deceased in October 2023.
